I am a freelance journalist and a published playwright.

As a former news editor and senior reporter/freelance writer on the editorial staff of weekly newspaper group publishing in east London and parts of Essex, I have had an extensive amount of writing experience in a variety of genres. As well as profiles on people and places I have written articles on just about everything from lifestyles, to women’s issues health and beauty, as well as court reporting (law) and headlining news stories.

While working as a freelance journalist I have written for a number of regional newspapers and represented two local authorities as a public relations officer.

My first love is words and bringing them to life on stage. My first full-length play Normal Shoes was produced at the Cockpit Theatre, Marylebone, northwest London, in May 2010, and my one act play Two Slices of Bread was published later that year.

I have written nine one-act plays – all of which have been performed at local drama festivals, many winning awards. I wrote and co-produced a comedy sketch show with two actor friends, which played to packed houses.

I am currently working on a full length play based on fact and just about managing to squeeze in some time to work on a comedy series.

I am a member of the NUJ and the Society of Women Writers and Journalists, and edited the society’s Woman Writer magazine for a number of years.
